Making the most of all of our time in year 12..

my friends rule.

Set your alarm for 6am. Don’t groan when it goes off and pull the covers over your head, get up and start your day. Put on a baggy top and running shorts. Go downstairs and pour yourself a nice big glass of ice water. Cut up some fruit and mix it in with yogurt. Add some granola. Now go outside. Stretch for 10 minutes. Skip for 5 minutes. Jog for 10 minutes. Run for 10 minutes. Walk back. Lay out a towel on the ground and lie down on it. Do 50 crunches. Yes, they hurt, but they are 100% worth it. When you’re done, get in the shower. Use a nice smelling shampoo and matching conditioner. Shave your legs and wash your body. Exfoliate your face. Get out of the shower and let your hair air dry. Look in the mirror. Do you like what you see? If you do, good for you. Do this every day and you will continue to love yourself. If you don’t like what you see, do this every day and pretty soon you will. Being lazy might feel good at the time, but being active feels better in the long run. How badly do you want it?

this photograph intrigues me so much! why isn’t this the most famous photo from 9/11 instead of the falling man? isn’t 2 people holding hands after jumping more significant than 1 man? it makes me wonder what the story is behind this photo, were they friends or lovers? or just strangers who were too scared to jump alone? it shows that people need a helping hand even in their final moments, i love it.

Fucking reblog today; tomorrow. Any day I see it on my dash. Beautiful. I for one think they were strangers. Sometimes it’s easier to care for a stranger, how else would they have found the courage to not only jump, but to look into someone’s eyes and jump. I don’t think I could have done that if I knew the person well.

Feminism,

is not just equal rights for women, but for men, that’s the definition of equality, the same for everyone. This means women work for the same wages and respect awarded to men, but also men are given the same level of respect and acceptance if they stay home while their partner works. It’s equality, so women can earn more and their male counterparts won’t feel emasculated.

My friend brought a matter to my attention today. It was the concept that a girl should respect herself and her body by not sleeping around. 

I disagree. I so completely disagree, simply because this implies that sex is somehow degrading to a girl. I think a girl should sleep around as much or as little as she wants, and still be able to respect herself regardless. Why is it that for a girl to respect herself, or even to be respected she has to limit who she sleeps with? Why is it that we’re all ‘equality for everyone, except girls who sleep with lots of guys are sluts!’ ? 

This also ties in with the fact that my friend is now being bitched about because she got with more than one guy on the weekend. Well it sucks to be of the belief that you shouldn’t get with more than one person ever. That it’s bad. Aren’t you already being ‘improper’ hooking up with a random who you don’t intend to be with again? 

Again, this ties in with all that advertising about sexting. Girls, don’t send guys photos of yourself, it’ll humiliate you. Well, that’s true, unless of course you’re not embarrassed by your body, unless there wasn’t so much stigma about a girls body. Guys are marginally affected by a photo of them being sent out, but girls are stupid to do so, huh? I have photos of my friends boobs on my phone. They took them and set them as the background of my phone, so a lot of people see the photos. Does this make me a bitch? Does this make my friends slutty? 

I think we should just be able to do what we want, without having to comply to all these rules about how we’re all supposed to rebel but not too much. In the idea of Friedrich Nietzche, form your own opinions, be your own person, don’t follow the values of someone else.
